Staff responded to the Dept. of Social Service and received a child sexual assault report (no further information released in order to protect the victim and due to the nature of the investigation); responded to an E911 disconnect call on Carters Cove Drive (no emergency services needed); responded to a disorderly conduct complaint on Benson Road; responded to a noise violation complaint on Chesapeake Drive; responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on Little Bay Road.
Aug. 19 A Brent Court man was arrested on three counts of failing to comply with support obligations, all on May 31; A Nuttsville resident was arrested on 2 counts of assault and battery on Aug. 14; a 16 year old White Stone area juvenile was taken into custody on a Richmond County charge of violation of juvenile probation ordered. Staff responded with KPD to a mental health emergency on Heatherfield Court (subject self-admitted for care); checked on the well-being of a Keep Safe program participant after prearranged telephone contact could not be made (telephone line problem); received an assault by threat/violation of a protective order complaint from a Nuttsville Road resident; responded to a larceny of license plates complaint on Twin Branch Road (domestic issue); attempted to locate a person wanted by York County authorities; received a fraud report from a Lancaster Drive resident (check forgery; $4,020 loss); responded to a domestic disturbance (adult siblings living together) on Wilson Lane; received a walk-in complaint of domestic destruction of property (civil issue); responded to an E911 disconnect call in the Lively area (resident testing a cellphone); responded to an E911 disconnect call on Carters Cove Drive (child playing on the phone); received a walk-in complaint of a domestic disturbance; received a walk-in complaint involving a tenant issue; responded with KPD to a possible prowler complaint on Wiggins Avenue.
Aug. 20 Alan C. Conaway, 33 of Wicomico Church, was arrested on Northumberland County charges of felony hit and run, felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, driving suspended, and felon destruction of property, all on Aug. 15. Staff received an attempted fraud complaint from an Edgewater Drive resident (telephone caller purportedly from Medicaid, asking specific health related questions and payment for services; citizens are reminded that the Social Security Administration, including both Medicaid and Medicare, do not initiate contact by telephone call and do not request payment via telephone call); attempted to intercept a reported reckless/aggressive driver in the White Stone – Kilmarnock area; notified Northumberland authorities
of a reported reckless driver in the Kilmarnock – Wicomico Church area; responded with VSP to a two vehicle traffic crash at Mary Ball and Devils Bottom Roads; received a larceny report from a Benson Road resident (50” flat screen TV, cash, assorted pictures, woman’s gold wedding ring; $3,330 loss); responded to an E911 disconnect call in the Hills Quarter subdivision (no emergency services needed); responded to a civil domestic complaint on Dutton Lane.
Aug. 21 A resident of Mac Pond Lane, was arrested for drunk driving. Staff responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint at Claybrook Baptist Church (DUI arrest reported above); responded to a larceny complaint on Bunkhouse Lane (civil issue); checked on the well-being of a Lively area resident at the request of a concerned out-of-town family member (no emergency services needed); received a motorist’s complaint of a reckless driver entering the county from Grey’s Point; responded with KPD to a panhandling complaint on Old Fairgrounds Way; responded to an assault by telephone threat complaint on Mosquito Beach Lane; responded to a domestic disturbance (parent/child) on Woodbrook Drive.Aug. 22 Staff received a burglary report from a Boys Camp Road resident (sliding glass door damages, collectible coins, cash, 12 gauge shotgun, BB gun, knife, blank checks, credit card; $856 loss; numerous items recovered); notified Richmond City PD of a third party report of a domestic disturbance in that jurisdiction; responded with VSP to Buzzards Neck Road on a fight call involving several juveniles; received a destruction of property report from a Nuttsville Road resident (2 vehicles keyed; $6,000 damages).
Aug. 23 Staff removed a large animal carcass from the roadway in the area of Little Oyster Lane; responded to a civil complaint on Benson Road; responded to a shots fired complaint in the area of Norwood Church Road and Mulberry Creek Road (target shooting with adequate backstop); responded to a destruction of property complaint on Heatherfield Court (no criminal incident); received a set of keys found by a citizen in the Lively area (owner was contacted and recovered the keys on Aug. 25); received a larceny report from a Belmont Creek Road resident (trailer license; $16 loss); received a motorist’s complaint of a vehicle being operated with no lights after dark on the Norris Bridge (no officer in position to attempt to intercept); intercepted a reported drunk driver in the White Stone area (driver was found to be sober; passenger was intoxicated; domestic issue involved); attempted to locate a vehicle being operated without permission in the Weems – Kilmarnock –Lancaster area.
Aug. 24 A 16 year old Lancaster area juvenile was taken into custody in Albemarle County on a Lancaster County charge of violation of terms of juvenile probation ordered on May 28. Staff responded to a prowler complaint in the 4,200 block of Morattico Road; received a larceny report from a GaskinsRoad resident (2005 Ford F150 pick-up; $7,000 loss and recovery; the vehicle was recovered unattended in Northumberland County); responded to a suspicious persons complaint in the area of Dillin Drive (subjects who live in the area were walking along the roadway); notified VDOT of the need to remove heavy debris from the roadside near Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail; secured a llama that wandered from the 6,600 block of Windmill Point Road and was able to get the animal returned to the owner; assisted in evacuating residents from a home in the 10,000 block of Mary Ball Road when a television antenna fell onto the home’s power line (no injuries reported); responded to the area of River and Morattico Road on a reckless driving complaint; notified VDOT of a large animal carcass interfering with traffic near the Norris Bridge.
