Lancaster County vehicle owners’ property tax bills are higher and it’s not because of an increase in rates according to Commissioner of the Revenue Marlon S. Savoy who tells the Rappahannock Record it’s because vehicle values are going up, not down. And it’s because of COVID-19 which cut production of new vehicles which was made worse by a global chip shortage. Savoy says used vehicle demand is way up not just here but across the country.
