Lancaster County BOS Gets Update On Election Security

The Lancaster County Board of Supervisors received an update from technology director Glenn Rowe on bolstering cybersecurity when it comes to elections. According to the Rappahannock Record Rowe reported the county has two cybersecurity interns from George Mason University evaluating the county on specific elements of a state-mandated security checklist and will finish their work by mid-August. Legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2019 requires mununicipalities to report once a year to the Virginia Department of Elections on security plans and procedures.
