Kilmarnock Planning Commission Seeking To Keep Franchisees Out Of Steptoe’s

The Kilmarnock Planning Commission is looking into ways it can prevent so-called “formula franchise businesses” from opening in the Steptoes District. The Rappahannock Record reports Mayor Shawn Donahue told the commission taking measures to prevent franchise businesses in the downtown area is critical to maintain the town’s personality and nature. As of now there are no franchisees seeking to set up shop in the district.
