Kilmarnock Plane Crash Is False Alarm

A report of a small plane crash in Kilmarnock on Monday turned out to be a false alarm. According to the Rappahannock Record a 911 caller said the plane was in a nose dive with smoke coming out of the back. Several first responders began a search but came up empty. Calls were made to Hummel Field in Topping, Omega Protein, local crop dusters and others to see if any planes were missing. The search was called off after an hour-and-a-half.
