Kilmarnock Holds First Budget Reading

This week the Kilmarnock Town Council held a first reading on its proposed $12 million fiscal year 2024 budget. According to the Rappahannock Record the spending plan includes wage increases of 5% for staff members. The town proposes a $5 per 60-day cycle increase to the water portion of utility rates. The budget will be read a second time during a June council meeting and will then be voted on.
