K-12 Digital Mapping Program Exceeds 1,000 Schools

Virginia’s school building Digital Mapping Program is completed in over 1,000 schools and 85 school divisions. Funding was allocated through the Department of Criminal Justice Services to assist public schools in the development of digital floor plans. Governor Glenn Youngkin also signed a bill requiring public school boards to create detailed and accurate floor plans for each of their buildings. The maps are then shared with first responders to aid the response in the event of an emergency or crisis.
