Juvenile Facing Charges After Fire Festival Grounds Arson

A juvenile is facing felony charges following an investigation into an arson that damaged buildings and rides at the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department’s Firemen’s Festival grounds. Kilmarnock Town Police confirmed the charges, which include arson and destruction of property related to the May 31 fire at 200 Waverly Avenue, and they commended community assistance in the investigation. Due to the juvenile’s age, no names are being released at this time. Kilmarnock Town Council meanwhile, has unanimously approved a $15,000 contribution to aid in fire recovery efforts. Donations are also being accepted.
