Jury Call Changes

Starting July 1, Virginians may find themselves on the jury duty call list for a bit longer. Governor Glenn Youngkin has signed a bill into law, raising the age at which individuals can opt out of jury duty upon request from 70 to 73. The move aims to broaden the potential jury pool, addressing concerns about dwindling participation… that after in some cases, more than half of potential jurors cite various reasons for exemption.
