Irvington Parade Set

The Town of Irvington is opening the doors up to the public for its annual 4th of July Hometown Parade.

This year’s event is set for 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4th, and will kick off near Crockett’s Landing. The parade route then follows King Carter Drive east to the Baptist and Methodist churches at Irvington Road.

Former mayor, school superintendent and school board member Alexander Fleet will be the grand marshal. Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Paul Galanti will be a guest of honor.

The parade lineup also will feature the mayor and town officials, the Kilmarnock & District Pipe Band, chil-dren on bicycles, antique cars, Shriner units and lots of decorated golf carts.

Then, after the parade, lots of antique cars will be on display at the Irvington Commons.

If you want to be in the parade, lineup starts at 9 that morning, and you need to call the town office between 9am and 1pm at 438 6230 to enter.
