In Irvington, members of the planning commission met recently with council for a workshop on charters, codes and ordinances. A new plan calls for the planning commission to develop ideas and concepts in a summary-like document which will then be sent to council’s charters, codes and ordinances committee for review. Then, upon review from the committee, the document would then be sent to council as well as posted to the town website for residents to see. After that, if council is in overall agreement with the concept, the document then would be sent back to the commission with any feedback to create a more finalized and ordinance- formed document. According to a report in the Rappahannock Record, the document would then go through town legal counsel for guidance and then finally, if it all checks out, through legal advertising and public hearing.
