Hummel Field Runway Project Underway

Paving work is under way for the new runway at Hummel Field airport in Topping. According to the Southside Sentinel the new runway will be aligned so planes do not have to fly over houses, and it is 1,000 feet longer than the old runway. The public-private partnership project is being done at no cost to Middlesex County. Work is expected to be completed by early September.
