Honeybees And Dead Human Bodies??

George Mason University here in Virginia, is exploring a unique approach to solving crimes by using honey bees. The university’s “body farm” in Manassas, the only one on the East Coast, has begun experimenting with bees to detect human remains. As bodies decompose in simulated crime scenes, they release organic compounds that could potentially be picked up by bees. Researchers will analyze if these compounds appear in honey or beehive samples, which might help investigators narrow search areas. Researchers hope this method could eventually provide evidence for search warrants in criminal cases.
