Hole In The Wall Controversy Continues

Last week, the Mathews supervisors held a nearly two-hour closed session during which they voted 4 to 0… with supervisor Tim Doss recusing himself… to put an end to a requirement that former county building official Jamie Wilks appear before the board and testify in the civil case involving the Hole in the Wall Waterfront Grill. That all came about… according to the Gazette Journal… after the law firm hired by the board to represent the county in that civil case, was granted a court ordered subpoena that called for Wilks to make an appearance before the board at the upcoming meeting on February 15th. Wilks would also have been required to produce documents involving the restaurant’s construction, inspections and permitting.
