Historic Places Adds New Places

Richmond’s Board of Historic Resources has added two significant sites to the Virginia Landmarks Register, recognizing their historical and cultural importance. The St. Clare Walker School District in Middlesex County, known for its role in providing education to Black students during segregation, and the DAW Theatre in Tappahannock, an emblem of community entertainment during the pre-World War II era, have both received this prestigious designation. The additions highlight the rich heritage and diverse stories woven into the fabric of Virginia’s history.
