A new health concern is emerging here in Virginia… According to the state department of health, syphilis cases have increased 22% in Virginia over just the past year. The revelation has spurred the state Department of Health to launch a new website to track the disease. So far this year, in the north and northwest health regions, data shows 48 reported cases in Central Virginia; 40 reported cases in Central Shenandoah; and 26 reported cases in Blue Ridge.
