Governor Vetoes 48 Bills

Governor Glenn Youngkin has vetoed 48 bills passed by Democrats in the General Assembly, setting a record high of 201 total vetoes for this legislative session. Among the bills vetoed were measures aimed at ending state perks for Confederate heritage groups, and legalizing skill games resembling slot machines. The skill games bill faced significant lobbying efforts but was ultimately vetoed, potentially extending the ban on these machines. Youngkin however, signed several bills into law, including measures to enhance notification systems for school-related drug overdoses.
