Going Solar In Lancaster

Lancaster supervisors have approved the addition of a solar panel project for the new high school. The solar panels will complement an existing geothermal system. Architects have confirmed that the roof is able to support the solar panels. The solar system comes at a $1.8 million estimated cost, but it offers potential savings through the Inflation Reduction Act and Solar Renewable Energy Credits. The panels will be designed to withstand hurricane-force winds. So far, there has been no decision on battery storage for backup power.
