Gloucester Woman Pleads Guilty To Capitol Riot Charge

A woman from Gloucester County facing charges from the January 6 U.S, Capitol Riot takes a plea deal. Federal prosecutors say Melody Steele-Smith pleaded guilty to Entering and Remaining in a Restricted Building or Grounds after she was seen inside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office. Investigators say one of Steele-Smith’s relatives tipped off law enforcement about her involvement in the incident. Steele-Smith will be sentenced next April and could be in jail for up to a year.
