Gloucester man sentenced in 2020 drive-by shooting

A Gloucester County man has been sentenced in connection to a 2020 drive-by shooting. WRIC-TV reports a Virginia District judge ordered Nathan DeAlbert Mattocks to 35 years in prison April 11, stemming from the incident in which a driver identified the 39 year old as the man who followed and began shooting at him. Deputies also found fentanyl and a 9mm semi-automatic pistol during Mattocks’ arrest. Mattocks is also accused of a murder for hire plot to have a witness in the case killed.

A multi law enforcement investigation, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office led to the discovery of Mattocks’ history of dealing heroin, methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and other substances in the Middle Peninsula region of Virginia.
