Gloucester Clean Community Receives $1,000 Green Grant

A $1,000 grant is awarded to the Gloucester Clean Community for its Bag It Up campaign which aims to mitigate the use of single-use plastic bags in the community. The Gazette-Journal reports the Green Grant from Keep Virginia Beautiful is awarded to nonprofit, civic and service organizations that put priorities on litter prevention, recycling or community beautification. Clean Community provides reusable bags at farm stands to encourage customers to think before automatically picking up single-use plastic bags.
