Fox Denning in Lancaster County

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office alerted residents that fox dens may be on the rise in the coming weeks. Denning season is between the end of March and early April where a mother fox will give birth to between 4 and 5 babies known as “kits”. A coyote will often find a fox den, dig out the babies, and kill them. A fox will often den under a porch, shed, garage, barn, or side of a hill.
