A longtime Mathews County Sheriff’s deputy announces his run to succeed retiring Sheriff L. Mark Barrick. According to the Gazette-Journal Albert S. “Sid” Foster has held a number of positions in his 2 decades with the Sheriff’s Office including field training officer, patrol sergeant and captain/chief deputy. Barrick said he’s retiring to focus on his family and their health, as well as his own health, personal interests, and friends.
