Flood Watches In Effect

We have some severe weather headed our way. Forecasters are calling for heavy rain and that has resulted in a flood watch being posted for our entire listening area from 1pm today through late tonight. The National Weather Service says excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. The heaviest rainfall is expected this evening in the hours prior to a cold front passage. Average rainfall will be around 1.5 to 2 inches in the watch area, with localized amounts up to 3 inches possible. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action.
