Filler-Corn Out As House Minority Leader

The House of Delegates minority leader is being replaced. On Wednesday, the Virginia Democratic House Caucus voted by secret ballot to remove Eileen Filler-Corn, who had been the House’s first woman Speaker. Her replacement has not been named. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch Filler Corn’s ouster is the first time Virginia lawmakers had deposed a minority leader since February 2007. Republicans took control of the House last November.
