Essex County Museum Announces Expanded African-American History Exhibit

The Essex County Museum & Historical Society announces an expansion of its current African American history exhibit. It’s called “Dreams Deferred, Goals Advanced: The African American Experience in Essex” and features 3 murals and life-size figures in period costume tracing black history in Essex from slavery times through Reconstruction and the Jim Crow era to the Civil Rights Movement and school desegregation. The exbibit is to open in late winter or early spring.
