Enrollment Up At Community Colleges

The Virginia Community College System reports fall 2022 semester was the first time community college enrollment grew since 2011. According to Virginia News Connection part of this is attributed to schools redesigning programs. The system’s senior vice chancellor for academic and workforce programs Dr. Sharon Morrissey said the Fast Forward program has especially bolstered Virginia’s rural community colleges. She says while these programs are attractive to adult students, the biggest challenge is financing.
