Now a heads up if you use Route 612 in Essex County. Beginning Jan. 23 the DOT will close a secion of the road for replacing a bridge over Dragon Run. The 5-month-long project will replace the current structurally deficient, steel beam timber deck bridge with a new 48-foot concrete slab structure on concrete abutments and concrete piles. During construction, drivers will be detoured approximately eight miles.
