Donations Sought To Recover From Vandals

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department is seeking community support after a fire and vandalism incident at the carnival grounds. The May 31 fire destroyed a bingo stand and children’s rides, prompting residents to begin to donate towards repairs. Firemen’s Festival president Cody Smith says there are ongoing investigations by local authorities into the incidents. While the bingo stand won’t be rebuilt in time for this year’s carnival, efforts are underway to ensure the event proceeds smoothly. Donations can be made to the Waverly Avenue Carnival Company via mail or in person at designated ticket sales events.
