Dominion Energy Asks SCC To Drop Wind Performance Guarantees

Dominion Energy is asking the State Corporation Commission to reconsider its performance guarantee for the utility’s large offshore wind project. The guarantee was included in the SCC’s approval to ensure Dominion’s customers don’t have to pay for replacement energy if the project doesn’t generate electricity at the level expected. On Monday, the utility company filed a motion saying the provision remains as initially outlined, it would force the company to “terminate all development and construction activities.”
