DMV Launches New Seat Belt Safety Campaign Dedicated to Deterring the Ding

The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles launched a campaign encouraging seat belt wearing by making light of the vehicle’s alert chime that keeps sounding until belts are buckled. Officials say studies show that repeated “dinging” is actually what motivates some folks to wear their seat belt when nothing else will do the trick. 18% of Virginians still don’t buckle up. The campaign can be seen at dmvnow.com.
