In a pivotal town meeting, Irvington residents and officials gathered to discuss the future. Irvington’s population has surged by 9.26% between 2010 and 2020, defying the overall decline in Lancaster County. Single-family detached residential areas dominate, covering 45.34% of the town. Agricultural land accounts for 54.35% including a 19.92-acre conservation easement. Development prospects include 35 lots in Vineyard Meadow, 17 lots in Irvington Farms, and 10 lots near The Pony Pasture… all of which are seen as being are ripe for development. This all is happening as Irvington residents by and large, have expressed a desire for a balance between growth and preserving Irvington’s small-town charm.
