Broad Creek Dredging Project Green-Lighted

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors has given the green light for swift action to address the pressing issue of shoaling in Broad Creek. The Middle Peninsula Regional Planning District Commission is now poised to prepare a “Request for Proposal” to hire a firm for the critical sampling and design work required for a federal permit application. The project will be executed in two distinct phases… Spot Dredging will target shoal areas outside the Army Corps of Engineers’ designated channel. Federal Channel Dredging involves dredging within the 100-foot wide, seven-foot deep federal channel.
