Attorney General Miyares Takes Action to Crack Down on Rampant Robocalls

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares joined a coalition of 50 attorneys general to form an Anti-Robocall Litigation Taskforce to investigate and take legal action against telecommunications companies responsible for enabling a majority of foreign robocalls into the United States. The taskforce will work to cut down on illegal robocalls made to consumers nationwide. It has issued subpoenas on 20 gateway providers, demanding comprehensive records.
Officials say Americans were bilked out of nearly $30 billion in robocall scams last year.
