A Newport News woman has been charged with leaving her two toddlers home alone, locked in a bedroom.
Police say officers approached 25-year-old Leslie Danielle Chavez Martin in Newport News after learning that she was wanted by York County Police.
Officers then learned Martin’s sons, ages two and three, were left at her home alone.
Child Protective Services was notified. A family member was contacted and took custody of the children.
Martin is charged with two counts of felony child neglect. She was also arrested for an outstanding warrant for assault and battery in York County.
