Arena Plan Moving Forward

The House of Delegates are now said to be advancing a plan for setting up a state authority to oversee construction of a new home for the Wizards and Capitals at Potomac Yard in Alexandria, but with several changes to the deal that had been put forward by Governor Glenn Youngkin. The General Assembly wants more control of the authority overseeing the project. They want transportation costs paid off with revenue from the arena, and extra money to be set aside each year to cover maintenance as additional control over the $2 billion proposed project,.
