July 4th

Irvington 4th of July Parade -10 am

Starting near Crockett’s Landing & follows King  Carter Drive to Rt. 200 in Irvington, VA. Featuring the Mayor of Irvington & Town Officials, Kilmarnock District and Pipe BAnd, children on bicycles, antique cars,  Shriner cars & decorated golf carts. Mathews 16th Annual Fireworks Celebration – 9 pm

Mathews High School  – The road at Mathews High School will close at 8:30 pm.  Food Vendors with traditional Independence Day fare.  Free  Admission, shuttle bus service from Thomas Hunter starting at  7pm to MHS. Rain dates are the 5th and 6th. For details call 725-1488 or Charles at 725-3236.

Gloucester Point Beach Park – at dark

Enjoy a great Fireworks Display, sponsored by Yorktown July 4th Committee.Concession stand, public showers and restrooms. Alcohol is not  permitted on County Property.

Stratford Hall – Lees & Independence Family Fun Festival – 10 am-4 pm

A free event for the whole family.  Mixing history  with family fun, this event celebrates the impact of the Lees  on the drafting of the Declaration of Independence.  Plan to spend the day at Stratford and enjoy family activities, fun,  food, tours and more.  Gates open on July 4 at 10:00 a.m. and close 4:00 p.m.  No admission fee.

Celebration at Kinsale in the Park – 5 pm – 9 pm

Cople District Vol. Fire Dept will have their annual Friday  July 4th celebration at the park in Kinsale. There will be  food, games for kids, dunking booth, pony rides, bike parades  and  vendors.  Music will be by Black Coffee & Heavy Cream from  5-9pm. Watch fireworks from the Kinsale Bridge at 9:15pm; the bridge will be closed from 8:45-9:45.

July 5th

 Reedville Independence Day Run, Parade and Fireworks – 10 am

Kids’ events, artists’ arena, food, boat display, crafts fair,  barbershop quartets and the Firecracker 5K run, all centered on  Reedville’s Main Street, decked out for the occasion. Parade at  3 pm, waterside fireworks at 9 pm.

Independence Day Celebrations at the Town of Urbanna -6 pm – 9:30 pm

Urbanna’s 4th of July celebration will be held  on  Saturday, July 5, at the Urbanna Town Marina on Urbanna  Creek.  Free family and children games with prizes, that will  include face painting, bean bag toss, kayak tug of war, crab races (you catch your own crab), hula hoop challenge and much more  all starting at 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.,  after enjoying  a free day at the Town’s pool.  Music will be provided by a local DJ starting a 6:00 p.m.

Patriotic Show/Richard Smith – 8 pm

First half will be patriotic music  and second half will feature an entertainer and drummer whose versatility can touch your heart one minute and have you  dancing in your seats the next!
