Aqua Virginia Seeks Surcharge To Pay For Repairs

The water company serving Callao, Lively and White Stone files an application with the State Corporation Commission to raise rates so it can conduct repairs including leaky water mains. According to the Richmond Times-Dispatch Aqua Virginia wants to add a 3% water bill surcharge and a 3.5% increase on sewer fees. In the application Aqua Virginia cited a 36% leak in of water pumped in Lively and a 39% leakage in White Stone. The Corporation hasn’t set a date to consider the application.
