8 Rescued From Sunk Boat In Chesapeake Bay

The Smith Point Sea Rescue was called out Saturday afternoon for a vessel in distress report in Chesapeake Bay. According to authorities a 4-person crew dispatched on Rescue 1 out of Cockrell’s Creek and they started a circular search for the 50 foot boat. The crew then learned the boat sunk and they found the 8 survivors about a mile and a half from Buoy 62. All were treated for hypothermia.
