    18-year-old Derek Poole, a senior at Gloucester High School, the starting center fielder on the Dukes baseball team and a starting guard on the basketball team, was arrested back in January on felony assault charges. Poole was charged with malicious wounding and strangulation, both felonies. He is accused of assaulting a former teammate.     A Newport News woman has been charged with leaving her two toddlers home alone, locked in a bedroom. Police say officers approached 25-year-old Leslie Danielle Chavez Martin in Newport News after learning that she was wanted by York County Police.     RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – One of five cheetah cubs at the Richmond Metro Zoo has died. Owner Jim Andelin says zoo staff found Hanna dead in her overnight shelter on Sunday morning.
