    Today is Vet­er­ans Day, and accord­ing to a CareerBuilder.com sur­vey, 33 per­cent of com­pa­nies are actively recruit­ing vet­er­ans. That’s up 12 points from 2011. That’s the highest number for a single month in three years.     RICHMOND, Va. (AP) – Virginia is awarding a series of grants to preserve historic Civil War battlefields. Gov. Terry McAuliffe said Friday that the 13 grants will help protect nearly 277 acres at 10 battlefields across the state.
