PLANE GOES DOWN IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY

Authorities are investigating today, after a small plane went down Saturday morning around 9 after taking off from Hummel Field at Topping in Middlesex County. According to limited reports that have been made available, the pilot, Keith M. Roxo and two passengers,  a woman and an infant were taken to Rappahannock General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. So far, investigators say they believe the crash happened when the plane, lost engine power while taking off, clipped some trees at the end of the runway with its wings, and then crashed… coming down on a house on Eubank Landing Road, next to Hummel Field in Topping. No one was in the house at the time of that crash. Virginia State Police and the FAA are continuing the investigation.
