The Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce Executive Board is pleased to announce the selection of Justin Burke as their Chamber Volunteer of the Year. “Justin was a great choice this year; He has contributed to the success of nearly all of the chambers events over the last two and half years. His enthusiasm for the chamber, his ideas and creativity has elevated our chamber events. He has a talent for bringing in new ideas and implementing them. His “hands on” total involvement include taking part in planning, set-up and clean-up.” said Executive Director Anne Paparella. The Board will present Burke with this award at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting and Dinner to be held Saturday, February 10th at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.
A talented musician and graduate of Lancaster High School, Burke graduated from Radford University with a degree in business. After college, Burke resided in South Carolina for several years developing his musical abilities and, making a name for himself in the music industry. He started his band James Justin & Co., playing guitar and lead vocals, in 2010. Burke decided to move back to his home town of Weems with his wife Melissa, and both have joined the family business, Burkes Fine Jewelers and recently helped launch a spin-off location in Urbanna – The Fin & Pearl – named after the couple’s 2 children. His musical talent and entertainment insights have contributed to the success of several chamber events and is still a significant component of Burke’s life, as he performs often in the Northern Neck and surrounding areas.
