Costs for Farnham Creek Boat Landing project higher than anticipated

According to Northernnecknews.com, a Richmond County project to build a new boat ramp and site pier will cost $9,000 more than originally anticipated.  Dameron Marine Construction, out of Fredricksburg, provided the lowest bid for the Farnham Creek Boat Landing project with estimates from multiple companies ranging from $69,000 – $350,000.  According to Richmond County Planner Joseph Quesenberry, the county has received a grant of “about $35,000” and the department of game and fisheries had $20,000 set aside in a reserve fund. Quesenberry suggested that “…the last $14,000 will come from the capital improvement plan.”
